Istanbul

Istanbul is a series of sketches and mixed media paintings, made during my time living in Turkey from 2012 to 2014.

For this series, I set aside printmaking and returned to painting: acrylic paint applied lightly and playing with transparency and collages of recycled paper.

Here I evoke a forgotten city: the nostalgia of passing time, a veiled intimacy hidden behind abstract facades. Istanbul - a city of multiple reflections.
