When Carol Ekarius and I were researching The Fleece and Fiber Sourcebook, we learned about, but couldn't find fiber for, a breed called Panama. It was developed from the same combination of breeds, Lincoln and Rambouillet, but the reverse of the cross that produced the Columbia. This document tells the story of the breed, explains why we couldn’t find any, and talks about transhumance, which is the long-standing worldwide practice with some flocks of moving sheep from one environment to another seasonally.

Printed document plus free digital version; 8x8" publication. This document contains a combination of theory and practical knowledge for fiber arts enthusiasts of all skill levels. The handouts are heavily illustrated.

Copyright: It takes a lot of time and significant resources to do this work, and I am self-supporting. Please honor the copyright. If you would like to use print or electronic copies for a group presentation or event or breed promotion, please get in touch about bulk pricing.
