Ask MagCloud: Community Features

Any MagCloud member can send a message to any other member. Readers can message publishers with questions or comments about a publication, and publishers can message members that "Follow" them.

Simply click the "Contact" link under the publisher's name on any publication, collection or profile page and send them a message.

Note that this is an optional feature for members, so it only appears when you're signed in, and when the publisher you are trying to contact has not opted out of this feature.

Publishers of Listed MagCloud publications will see a "Message Your Followers" link in the Messages Inbox. This lets you send a MagCloud Message to all of that publication's followers at once.

When you receive a message you'll notice a number next to the Messages icon at the top of every page, to let you know how many new messages are in your inbox. We'll also send you an email every day with a digest of new messages. You can set those emails to come immediately, daily, weekly, or not at all in your account settings.

Yes, you can limit whom you want to receive messages from (MagCloud site promotions, publishers of MagCloud publications you follow, or any member). If an individual member becomes a little over-communicative, you can block them from sending any more messages. All these settings and more can be found in your account settings.

Simply click on Account at the top of the page (you must be logged in) and edit your profile to upload or change your profile picture. You can also upload your picture directly from your profile page. Just hover over the placeholder image and you will be able to upload, change, or remove your profile picture.

Your profile picture will appear in MagCloud messages, on the publication pages and collection pages for MagCloud publications you create, and of course on your profile page, too.

Following a collection of MagCloud publications is a way to give a publisher a little bit of encouragement. If you follow their collection, a publisher will be able to send you messages about submissions, new publications, and other related news.

To follow a collection, just click the "Follow Collection" link on any publication or collection page while you are signed in.

Yes, you can always unfollow a collection or just opt out of "follower messages" if you choose.

The collections you follow will be listed on your profile page. If you don't want to show them, you can turn it off by editing your profile.
