Max Hall's football writing odyssey has taken him from rainy, windswept nights as the only spectator at Sandwell Borough to the plush surrounds of the press boxes at Old Trafford and Berlin's Olympiastadion. Now living in Genova and a lifelong Lye Town fan, he has also played - and scored - in the second division of the Tarawa League in Kiribati.
