Hector Timourian (hectortim)

Hector Timourian was born in Mexico and grew up having to adapt to the different Mexican, Armenian, and American languages and cultures. He’s a retired biomedical scientist and educator. He feels liberated from the rigors of technical writing and is currently writing stories and poetry. Many of his stories reflect his multicultural background. In Gifts From America, humorous vignettes of family members who are new to the United States are remembered. Many times, a simple narrative takes a life of its own, and as the story is retold it grows and changes. Simple events take new meaning as they are weaved into stories showing how memory and imagination reveal the nature of the people involved. Although these stories relate happenings about Armenian people who migrated to America, their humor, love, and compassion reveal the universal unanimity of our human nature.
