I had a 30+ year career as a graphic designer and design educator, including jobs at The Chicago Tribune, Northwestern University and Columbia College Chicago. Now retired from teaching, I am interested in doing these three things: 1. Share my insights and theories about design. 2. Recognize the wonderful work that many of my students produced and 3. Promote information design as a tool to educate and inform, without the marketing spin that comes from having to persuade someone to buy something. I wrote and designed my book "DESIGN INFO: theory + practice" to achieve those goals.
