Ed Passi (edpassi)
Ed Passi, writer/artist/photographer, garnered recognition awards for his works and had resumed his writing endeavor and freelancing. He showcased a photographic exhibit in the early ’90s, and also published a local history newspaper in 1995 which the historical society had offered to archive. His magazine, Creatives Circuit was issued in 2014, and he completed Dawn Break, an Impressionist art painting in 2011, his genre inspired in part by his travels in Europe. Ed wrote a series of critiques and essays in his old blog site and also scripted the docu-video, Revisits in Black, circa 2017. He was a member of the writers’ group South Bay Scribes in 2019 and was a participant in their signature event. A registered nonpartisan and with existentialist bent, Ed’s philosophies leaned towards the eclectic rather than centrist. “I am the odd man out,” he noted back in the ’60s, “I’m in a league of my own.” And his scoff at cynics everywhere: “Many are quick to judge from the confines of their own limitations.” His take on aspirations in 2013: “Fulfillment is when you need only to impress no one but yourself.” On personal life, he noted in 2007, "Moments, more than seasons, are what we take home with us. The reminiscent essence of the fleeting experience is timeless gift." Travels aside, Ed briefly stayed in early times in New York and Virginia, but lived mostly in the West Coast. His experiences assimilated rethinking the narrative, facing the elements, and life exploration. “Life is a mosaic,” he wrote in 2009. “The pursuits, exploits, and events converge amid twists and turns, crossroads, and tempestuous change.”
