Ayani Meli (Ayani)

Ayani is an accomplished poet and playwright, as well as a digital storyteller; however, focused she was, these were just hobbies. Now, she has found a way to use them to show case her love of and convey the awesomeness our Magnificent Heavenly Father.

After graduating from Davidson College, she served for several years as a web manager for an organization promoting healthy children and families in Georgia. She also taught drama at Talbot Academy, an alternative school in Savannah serving the needs of behaviorally challenged youth.

In the most recent past, Ayani helped to establish Neighborhood Networks Computer Centers in culturally diverse neighborhoods in Boston, MA. In addition to teaching regular computer classes, the youth who attended the centers were taught how to write and create their own digital stories. She was also able to incorporate her love for poetry and drama into each center.

Upon the passing of her father, a well-known pastor in rural Georgia, she returned to Georgia where she is focusing on serving the spiritual and education needs of rural youth. She is also taking this time to work on a novel and several Gospel plays for future production across the United States.
