The Broken Dead

“The Broken Dead” is a journal of a recently made zombie young woman in the mists of a newly formed Apocalypse Acropolis world setting. Where the last surviving humans are hunted down by zombie hordes. Jillian Jones tries to make sense of what was left of her life and her newly born death. She finds herself remembering parts of her life as a human and describes her experiences of being undead. Throughout her journal writing she finds her lost love, her best friend forever Libby, and others. Her writings are darkly poetic at times and lost at the same time.

This Broken Dead is written in the thought process of an undead young woman from her unsettling perspective and her loss of humanity. Eventually, even this loss of her former self becomes evident to the reader. An odd journey of one lost soul in an endless nightmarish sea of life as a zombie. Her thoughts are unclear, delusional, seeking clarity and sense of what has happened. Will Jillian find peace or unrest in her newly transformed world?
