Most of these pictures were taken in 2006-7. In the beginning the signs were made of unprimed plywood. Then it was pressboard, primed white, and some time after came the orange border. Lately a pair of sticks are tacked horizontally over the sign to give it some frontbone. This makes it a little more durable. A few years ago, the phone number changed. If I had kept up with every placement I've seen - today I'd have a book in excess of 100 pages, and so I sigh every time I see one. To my eyes the sign conveys everything you'd like in a tree trimmer, competitive rates, consistency, height, cunning and audacity. Now I swear I'm going to get back to work trying to keep up with the latest, collect them all and publish the definitive edition of DISCOUNT TREE CUTTING.
