The 2012 New Rochelle Souvenir Program is the program of the nations' only annual international "sister city" jazz festival, The New Rochelle Jazz Festival. New Rochelle, N.Y. ( a suburb of NYC) shares much in common with it's "sister city" La Rochelle, France, including the love of jazz culture.

New Rochelle was founded in 1688 by French Huguenots escaping religious persecution in their native land. 2013 marks the 325th anniversary of that founding. Both cities are roughly the same population, both have bustling seaports, and both have an appreciation of the only truly american art form, JAZZ.

The NRJF always takes place in conjunction with the French independence day celebration, "Bastille Day". The NRJF is but one of a month long series of events, "Jazz In July", that take place all over New Rochelle and the long island "sound shore" area. The French jazz festival is called "Jazz en Aout"( Jazz In August")
