On April 14th, 2021, I asked the men of Facebook a question:
“I have a question for you men! I'm writing a book about a father's first words to his child. On the day your children were born, what would you say? Sometimes we don't speak, but we think it. Tell me your thoughts, please! Oh, I will also place your names on the inspiration page of the book. If you wish not to have your name placed, please let me know. Thanks so much! *It doesn't matter if tagged to respond. “
Eleven men responded to my inquiry. These fathers came from various sociological and professional backgrounds. They all presented responses that touched the heart. Their responses are placed here in poetic form. Please read to your child, and enjoy!
