embodiment. is a limited-edition artist publication by James Isaac Jones.
Through a sequence of black-and-white photographs, the body is placed in visual conversation with sacred spaces, asking what it means to be considered sacred. Rather than attempting to resolve this tension, the images hold the body and the church side by side, inviting viewers to consider the relationship between them.
Developed alongside the exhibition En Corps in Paris, embodiment. is part of Jones's ongoing photographic practice exploring the relationship between the body, faith, and visual culture.
