Circle the Square

With the advent of mass transportation and the reach of the internet, travel today is very different from when I first stepped foot outside my native England more than fifty years ago. Indeed, my first and only previous “largely uninformed” trip to Portugal was in 1979. So, upon returning after a hiatus of more than forty-six years, together with not having visited England for three years, my visual curiosity was heightened. There are fundamentally two ways of organizing a travel itinerary, from the organized "left brain", to the flâneur in the "right brain" (although apparently this brain split is often inappropriately characterized). My approach is mixed, with my day generally fitting within the confines of a structured approach, but subject to instinctive deviations. Circle the Square is the result.
