The Veil is a contemplative literary novella that traces the evolution of a photographer’s way of seeing—from passive observation to personal confrontation. What begins as a fleeting moment on the street—a fragment of plastic catching light—unfolds into a profound exploration of perception, distance, and identity. As the photographer becomes increasingly attuned to the layers that obscure human experience—glass, reflection, motion, and digital mediation—his work transforms into a visual and philosophical inquiry. The “veil” emerges not as an object, but as a condition: a constant presence shaping how we see others, and ourselves. Through a series of quiet realizations and internal fractures, the project shifts from documentation to participation.
