62 Seconds

After almost fifty years of visiting family and taking pictures in Aberystwyth, Wales, in 2019 I became aware of the seasonal, twice-daily, starling murmurations at the local pier. How the existence of this phenomenon was not passed on from my father—himself an avid photographer—I will never know. During two hours of taking more than 1,000 pictures over five days, I witnessed first-hand this "time setting" mesmerizing event where bird flocks can number hundreds of thousands. The pictures lay dormant in my archive for six years until I extracted this 62 second vignette.
