Grad / Gagne BIOGENESIS: ON THE ROAD TO HEALING - MEMOIRS OF A SCIENTIST

As a young biologist, Grad met Wilhelm Reich in 1949. As he developed his research program on the biochemistry of aging, he studied with Reich, conducting experimental studies of physical & biological effects of the orgone energy accumulator. He also replicated Reich’s bion Experiment XX, & and found cell-like structures which led to his later research on origins of life. After Reich’s tragic death, Grad met Oskar Estebany, who claimed to be able to heal by laying-on of hands. Grad conducted extensive double-blind experiments with him & other healers, demonstrating they could produce significant effects on wound healing & goiter development in mice, & stimulated plant growth. Grad also describes his involvement with the spiritual practice of the latihan in Subud, introduced by the Indonesian teacher Bapak. The book includes several remembrances of Grad by family & colleagues, a complete bibliography of his publications & a reprint of his 1955 paper “Wilhelm Reich’s Experiment XX.”
