Our Mothers Ourselves 2025

This is a catalogue of the 2025 exhibit Our Mothers Ourselves, an exhibit that invites us to explore the maternal influences in our lives. It features the work of twelve photographic based artists from diverse backgrounds, generations, and experiences, each reflecting on how their mothers and maternal figures have shaped who they are. Following our 2023 exhibit in San Francisco, we are delighted to expand our perspectives to include two Milwaukee-based artists, adding new local voices to our conversation. The artwork spans a variety of styles, from traditional photography to three-dimensional creations, each piece reflecting the creativity and strength of the artists, their mothers, and the legacies they have left behind. The images encourage us to think about the legacies we inherit and those we will pass on. As we navigate the complexities of motherhood and legacy, we invite you to join us in celebrating these artists and reflecting on our own stories.
