Quiet Storm is a poetic photo-essay exploring the emotional terrain of anxiety, depression, and the healing power of rest. Through the shifting lens of exhaustion, the vivid reds of a maple tree become distorted—once-beautiful branches now appearing disorienting, surreal, and achromatic.
This visual and psychological narrative follows the inner experience of perceptual unraveling to anxiety and depression as fatigue distorts both perception and emotion. The storm—silent yet intense—is a metaphor for the invisible processes of mental overwhelm. In its aftermath, sleep becomes not just rest but remedy.
When the body recovers, so too does the mind: the maple tree is beautiful once more, and clarity returns. Quiet Storm is a meditation on the fine line between perception and psychological state, and the quiet redemption found in restoration.
