Through careful observation of items throughout Media, PA, and Philadelphia, PA, Ian McMillan aims to show the beauty in destruction. Whether the subject is a discarded item on the street or a pocket of rust on a pole, these moments stand out from the sanitized world they reside in.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Ian McMillan is an interdisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing a BFA in photography at Temple University. His photo work includes tight, thoughtful compositions emphasizing small moments and details. He enjoys all mediums of art, such as painting, drawing, ceramics, and printmaking. Outside of school, he has been featured in Transcending Uncertainty: Art Endures at Home in Philadelphia in Philadelphia’s city hall, and the 19th Annual Juried Art Exhibition at the William Way LGBT Community Center.
