Issue 69 of Wing Chun Illustrated features Sifu Martin Brogaard. Martin is a full-time professional teacher who was introduced to Wing Tsun at the Scandinavian Wing Tsun HQ in Copenhagen in 1992. In 2007, he took a study trip to China with Sifu Pui Yee to train with the ten most famous Wing Chun grandmasters they could find. The one who made the biggest impression was Sifu Wan Kam Leung. Martin became his private student and was the first official instructor of Practical Wing Chun in Scandinavia. Sifu Brogaard talks about how his knowledge of philosophy and psychology has benefitted him as a Wing Chun coach, how the traditional training methods in Wing Chun have limitations, and how he uses a more modern scientific approach when working with professional fighters.
