NOW - Julie Mihaly

I took these photographs during the most cloistered days of the Covid-19 pandemic, a time during which the safest way to engage with the world was visually, and often from a distance. Those days are the NOW to which these images refer. When I took them, they felt shadowy, silent, and solitary. But no matter how isolated my picture-taking was then, there always seemed to be a sliver of beauty that hinted at a time when life would be louder, lighter, and far less lonely. That, I hope, is our new NOW.
