Abstract Reflections - A Modernist Perspective depicts surreal, ephemeral photographic images that capture light and shadows materializing off of everyday objects, such as the top of a shampoo bottle, the face of an iron, a printer cover and other objects. Creating magical, humorous, and sometimes frightening images, the reflections appear naturally on walls, ceilings, or furniture, only a moment in time. The images may appear familiar to the viewer (pareidolia) or may conjure an entirely different mystical object from one's imagination. Reminiscent of the early modernists of abstract photography, such as Quigley, Hager, Moholy-Nagi and Maar, this book demonstrates a modern, technological approach to abstract black and white digital photography by using iPhone 11, iPhone 15 Pro or Nikon P950.
