In 2020 I came up with the idea of this year-long photo project after it seemed like we’d be in for another year of disruption due to the pandemic. I needed a reason to use my PTO and a longer term creative project to focus on felt like a good idea. The concept was pretty simple: create a photo book photographed entirely on Kodak 400TX Tri-X 120 black & white film with my Mamiya C330f over the course of the year, documenting my hometown as it exists in 2021. I had quite a few ideas on what it should be - most of which didn’t work out as I planned. I struggled a bit with reconciling what I had in mind with what it ended up being. In the end, I stuck to my goal of simply creating something and letting it be what it is.

All of the film is self-developed and digitized by me.
