I know in Zambia they call the focus of this book ZamCabs but I really liked title I thought up better- Zambia Wheelbarrowers. Traveling to Africa with students for 4 trips really opened my eyes to the struggle of Street People in Zambia and everywhere. Since I always put my cultural observations into drawings, I set out to do the same here to explain the social struggles of Zambia, and specifically in Lusaka, the capitol of Zambia. There, 75% of the population are homeless or live in the compounds or slums of Lusaka. Tis is where we spent our time working with the kids on the streets. We got to tour the markets and residential neighborhoods where they live and go to school. This is where I met those Zambians that are working hard pushing these wheelbarrows back and forth picking up and dropping off product for sale and distribution. I am pleased with the way this book turned out. It tells the story I have wanted to tell. Let me know what you think.
