Issue 58 of Wing Chun Illustrated features Sifu Freddy Wong. At age 18, Sifu Freddy began training as a personal student of Grandmaster William Cheung in Melbourne, Australia. In 1999, he moved back to Hong Kong to take over the Global Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Association (Hong Kong Branch) for two years, while still receiving personal instruction from his Sifu every six months. In 2003, Sifu Freddy officially received his level 10 rank from Grandmaster Cheung and became a certified instructor for the Global Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Association. Later on, he moved to Tokyo and had been teaching there since 2008. In 2012, he received his Master rank and was appointed the Chief Instructor for Japan and since 2018 is Global Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu Association’s representative in Asia.
