The Governor's House Inn was worked by James Laurens in 1760 on the site of the previous Charleston Orange Garden. Found simply outside the first walled city of old Charles Towne, the Orange Garden, which was accepted to be the site of a genuine orange forest in the last part of the 1600s, was a recreation center where shows were every now and again held.
