It is my belief that a well-made portrait illuminates some of what the subject is experiencing. This body of work was originally intended to be a series of experimental portraiture. However, COVID-19 shut down my city and travel, limiting my access to subjects. Now, with social distancing, how do I make portraits? This project shift intends to explore portraiture from a distance. These are portraits of people in discomfort, disbelief, or even distress. And now is my only chance to create in this dystopian existence we are settling into.
