On January 21st, 2017, an unprecedented and historic Women’s March took place in Washington, DC. It was a worldwide protest to advocate legislation and policies regarding human rights and other issues, including women’s rights, immigration reform, healthcare reform, the natural environment, LGBTQ rights, racial equality, freedom of religion, and workers’ rights.

Unable to participate in the march on that January day, I chose to build on the momentum of this amazing gathering by photographing some of the people who marched and included their stories in this book. Over the course of two months I did 21 photoshoots of a diverse group of people.

I wanted this project to affect change in a tangible way. In this spirit, the profit proceeds from the sale of each book ($10) will be donated to Planned Parenthood.

Thank you to everyone who helped edit, promote and participate in The Pink Book.
