Catch a Mermaid Blanket

This simple lace sampler throw is a really quick knit and an easy introduction to lace knitting for newbies.

The colors I used remind me of coral reefs under the sea, and the stitch patterns speak of fishnets, especially using thick-thin cotton yarn, however, any aran weight or light chunky yarn will work fine.

MATERIALS Aran or bulky weight yarn, 525 yds. total (5 skeins of Araucania Patagonia, 105 yds. each, colors A, B, C, D, and E) # 9 (5.5 mm) needles (26” circulars), or size to get gauge.
