People are more apt to talk candidly about their innermost feelings when under the influence of alcohol. One of the most universal human experiences is love. Heartache, puppy love, romance, and longing–these feelings inspire the world’s favorite songs, music, movies. Love, and talking about love, requires vulnerability, a vulnerability that can be found once inebriated. Last year, my good friend and comedic partner, Jeffrey Lehman, set on a quest to get many of his friends drunk and speak to them about love. He recorded these thoughts and interactions in a capstone writing project that took many months of editing and transcribing. As a visual artist, graphic designer, and colleague of Jeff, I was intrigued by the subject matter, and took it upon myself to turn the text into a literary magazine.
