This book came about for the sole reason of capturing the gritty, up close feel of the underground music scene. To the average person, a concert is an enormous mainstream production. However, attending small venue gigs is a completely different experience. There is a sense of intimacy and camaraderie that could never be felt at a big event. The overall theme is more than just bringing a camera to a concert. It’s about being part of the whole situation and observing the up-close intensity of both the bands and the crowd. There is nothing perfect about this book, yet it is real. It’s about real people with a true passion for the art of creating music.

These photos were shot mostly in Houston during 2015. They are not intended to be clean, rock star masterpieces. The images should be looked at as a showcase of unconventional art in its raw natural habitat. These moments of eternal rebelliousness are forever burned in time.
