BE THE WORD is an Atlanta-based zine (shorter version of a magazine) that's in affiliation with the activist group & art collective called Don't Say A Word (DSAW). BE THE WORD is a publication for the people and is centered around uplifting black spirits, knowledge, and communities through storytelling, photography, and facts.
The first issue of BE THE WORD is titled PROTEST because it encapsulates the times of protesting in Atlanta, GA in 2020. Writers and photographers do an incredible job of documenting what it was like to be live on the ground and highlighting the importance of fighting for what's right. This PROTEST issue is here before you as a tool for information and inspiration; to let the people know that you are not alone in this fight.
