This particular work is a facsimile scan of the handwritten notebook that became the seven books of Scattered Resistance. It is largely a curiosity and an art piece, fitting to a fixation on the degradation and impermanence of the physical. Less pompously, I simply like how things look as they go to bits. This book’s been dropped, stored in an unexpectedly wet place, vomited upon, cleaned, lost, found, cleaned again, and generally mistreated in all manner of ways. It’s a testament to Boorum Books – the notebook manufacturer I loved so very much – that it survived these things as well as it did. Here, then, is the curiosity I’ve waited ages to be able to release.
