Sailing Through A River of Stars is a book of dispatches and photographs taken on a River cruise in Portugal through the beautiful Douro valley in 2024. It also features photos of Lisbon, Salamanca, Spain and the ancient Spanish pilgrimage site of Santiago de Compestela (literally “Saint James in a field of stars”). Saint James, the brother of Jesus, is buried in a silver reliquary sarcophagus in the bowels of Santiago’s baroque cathedral.

The book features photos of landscapes, the Douro river, terraced vineyards, ancient villages, people, art, and the natural, cultural and architectural touchstones of the region.
