This illustrated memoir tells the tales of my young life in Saint Andrews, Scotland, when I was 8 and 9 years old. It was an extraordinary year for me, filled with delightful travels in Scotland and England, cultural revelations, new friends, a great British education, overcoming serious health issues and learning about my Scottish ancestry by visiting the places where both sides of my family had originated and later emigrated from.
