The Thomas Stone National Historic Site is also called Haberdeventure, or the Thomas Stone House. It is located in Charles County, Maryland, about 25 miles south-southwest of Washington D.C. The site was created to protect the home and land of the Founding Father Thomas Stone, one of the 56 signers of the United States Declaration of Independence. His home and estate were owned by the Stone family up to 1936.
