Steven Joseph Wolfe (stevenjosephwolfe)

Steven Joseph Wolfe is a retired real estate investor and restaurant franchisee based in Rochester, Minnesota. Known professionally as Steve Wolfe and Steven Wolfe, he has built a career focused on business operations, real estate investment, and community involvement. Since beginning his investment journey in 2013, Steven has developed experience across residential housing, hospitality, senior living, and business ventures.

His investment portfolio includes a 118-unit single-family rental (SFR) housing community, five short-term vacation rentals, new construction apartments, two Marriott hotels, and a medical biotechnology startup. In 2021, Steven and his partners entered the senior living sector through their first project in Durango, Colorado, which was sold in the Spring of 2024. Since that time, they have invested in seven additional senior living projects in Minnesota and Iowa.

Before focusing on real estate investments, Steven built a successful career as a Panera Bread franchise owner and operator. In 2000, he became a franchise owner and developed six locations across southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. His franchise grew to more than six Cafes in two states with more than 350 employees before he sold the business in 2019.

During his time as a franchise owner, Steven managed all aspects of operations, including financial oversight, employee development, marketing, leadership, and multi-site management. His locations achieved year-over-year sales growth and ranked in the top five of all national Panera Franchisees in customer satisfaction surveys. He built strong management teams, including more than 32 managers, who had a combined 300+ years of experience working with Panera at the time he sold the franchise.

Steven’s responsibilities included hiring, training, compliance, customer service, and maintaining relationships with corporate partners. He also worked closely with bakery teams, overseeing operations that produced $360k in bakery and bread products every month. His focus on consistent service and employee development helped support long-term business performance.

Earlier in his career, Steven worked as an independent insurance sales broker for Family Heritage Life. Over five years, he ranked in the top five in sales each year and sold more than $1 million in supplemental insurance coverage. During college, he also sold educational and Christian books through commission-based sales, working more than 80 hours a week. He ranked among the top 100 sales representatives out of 3,000 college students in three of the four summers.

Steven grew up as the sixth of ten children in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Assumption High School in 1988 and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in History from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota, in 1992.

Community service has been an important part of Steven’s life. Through his Panera franchise locations, he donated more than $300,000 annually in leftover bread and bakery products to nonprofits and food banks. He supported organizations including the Rochester Boys and Girls Club, Salvation Army, Next Chapter Ministries, and PossAbilities.

Steven has also contributed to initiatives such as the Honor Flight Initiative, which raised over $60,000 to support WWII veterans traveling to the WWII Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., and Hurricane Katrina relief efforts that raised $10,000 for a replacement vehicle for a New Orleans taxi driver. Outside of business, he enjoys cycling, sports, concerts, hiking, movies, visiting state and national parks, and spending time with family and friends.
