Light harvesting in photosynthesis is currently an issue on-debate and studied widely in all over the world. Studies on light harvesting mainly focus on enlightening molecular mechanism of the process and enhancing absorption capacity of light harvesting complexes (LHCs). Enhancement of absorption capacity of LHCs can be done either by natural methods or by synthetic methods. Quantum dots (QDs), fluorescent semiconductor nanocrystals, are important constituents of inorganic-organic hybrid structures which are built to enhance absorption capacity of LHCs through synthetic methods. In this study, we synthesized carbon and heteroatom doped carbon QDs through a microwave assisted synthesis method. Each QD had unique photophysical and structural properties. Photosynthetic pigments (PP) (isolated from spinach leaves) were mixed with each QD separately to build a QD-PP hybrid structure. Our results revealed that significant amount of energy is transferred from carbon QDs to PPs and therefore chlorophyll fluorescence capacity of PPs enhanced significantly in 360-420 nm excitation wavelength interval. Our results suggested that non-toxic, inexpensive and easily synthesized carbon QDs can be an important constituent for hybrid structures to enhance absorption capacity of LHCs in highly energetic region of visible spectrum.To evaluate feasibility, frequency and severity of peri-procedural complications and post-procedural adverse events (AEs) in patients with advanced cholangiocarcinoma or liver metastasis of uveal melanoma and prior hemihepatectomy undergoing chemosaturation percutaneous hepatic perfusion (CS-PHP) and to analyze therapy response and overall survival compared to a matched group without prior surgery. CS-PHP performed between 10/2014 and 02/2018 were retrospectively assessed. To determine peri-procedural safety and post-procedural adverse events, hospital records and hematological, hepatic and biliary function were categorized using Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE) v5.0 (1-5; mild-death). Significance was tested using Wilcoxon signed-rank and Mann-Whitney U test. Kaplan-Meier estimation and log-rank test assessed survival. Overall 21 CS-PHP in seven patients (4/7 males; 52 ± 10 years) with hemihepatectomy (grouphemihep) and 22 CS-PHP in seven patients (3/7 males; 63 ± 12 years) without prio a prior hemihepatectomy.Antiplatelet agents may increase the risk of infections via suppressing platelet-mediated immune response. Here we assessed the contribution of clopidogrel versus aspirin to the development of pneumonia during an acute ischemic stroke admission. A retrospective cohort study was conducted of acute ischemic stroke patients who were admitted to our hospital from 2015 to 2018. Included patients received uninterrupted clopidogrel or aspirin therapy and did not take other antiplatelet agents throughout their stay. The interest outcome was development of pneumonia after stroke. Conditional logistic regression model after propensity score matching and adjusted logistic regression model were used to assess the impact of clopidogrel versus aspirin on post-stroke pneumonia. Among 1470 included patients, 1135 received aspirin and 335 received clopidogrel. Total 149 patients (10.1%) experienced pneumonia during the stroke hospitalization period. No difference was observed between clopidogrel cohort and aspirin cohort in the incidence of post-stroke pneumonia after propensity score matching (relative risk, 1.04; 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.65-1.65; P = 0.875). However, we found that clopidogrel was associated with increased risk of pneumonia compared with aspirin in minor stroke patients (adjusted odds ratio, 2.21; 95% CI 1.12-4.34; P = 0.021), and a statistically insignificant increase of pneumonia in diabetics (adjusted odds ratio, 1.94; 95% CI 0.96-3.94; P = 0.065). Compared with aspirin, clopidogrel is associated with increased pneumonia in minor stroke patients among who the interference of str
