We also compare ProTECT with results from published tools. ProTECT can be run on a standalone computer, a local cluster, or on a compute cloud using a Mesos backend. ProTECT is highly scalable and can process TCGA data in under 30 min per sample (on average) when run in large batches. ProTECT is freely available at https// solos are common in plant-associated bacteria and increasingly recognized for playing important roles in plant-microbe interkingdom signaling. Unlike the LuxR-type transcriptional regulators of prototype LuxR/LuxI quorum sensing systems, luxR solos do not have a LuxI-type autoinducer synthase gene associated with them. LuxR solos in plant-pathogenic bacteria are important for virulence and in plant endosymbionts contribute to symbiosis. In the present study, we characterized an atypical LuxR solo, PcsR2, in the biological control species Pseudomonas chlororaphis 30-84 that is highly conserved among sequenced P. chlororaphis strains. Unlike most LuxR solos in the plant-associated bacteria characterized to date, pcsR2 is not associated with a proline iminopeptidase gene and the protein has an atypical N-terminal binding domain. We created a pcsR2 deletion mutant and used quantitative RT-PCR to show that the expression of pcsR2 and genes in the operon immediately downstream was upregulated ∼10-fold when thecsR2 upregulates the expression of the adjacent operon in response to unknown wheat root-derived signals and belongs to a novel subfamily of LuxR-type transcriptional regulators found in sequenced P. chlororaphis strains.Pheochromocytomas (PHEOs) are relatively rare catecholamine-producing tumors derived from adrenal medulla. Tumor microenvironment (TME) including neoangiogenesis has been explored in many human neoplasms but not necessarily in PHEOs. Therefore, in this study, we examined tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (CD4 and CD8), tumor associated macrophages (CD68 and CD163), sustentacular cells (S100p), and angiogenic markers (CD31 and areas of intratumoral hemorrhage) in 39 cases of PHEOs in the quantitative fashion. We then compared the results with pheochromocytoma of the adrenal gland scaled score (PASS), grading system for pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma (GAPP) and the status of intra-tumoral catecholamine-synthesizing enzymes (TH, DDC, and PNMT) as well as their clinicopathological factors. Intratumoral CD8 (p = 0.0256), CD31 (p = 0.0400), and PNMT (p = 0.0498) status was significantly higher in PHEOs with PASS less then 4 than PASS ≧4. In addition, intratumoral CD8+ lymphocytes were also significantly more abunnant. In addition, abnormal catecholamine-producing status of tumor cells such as deficient PNMT and TH and increased DDC could also represent more aggressive PHEOs. Chinese medicine has been used to treat diabetes symptoms for thousands of years. or is a Chinese medicinal herb that is routinely used in the treatment of diabetes mellitus (DM). The purpose of this study is to evaluate the evidence of the added benefits and safety of herbal formulae containing in clinical studies and the possible mechanisms of in the prevention and treatment of DM in experimental studies. We searched nine databases for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that included in the formulae in the treatment of type 2 DM. Furthermore, experimental studies on the prevention and treatment of DM by in English- and Chinese-language databases were identified. Fifty-three moderate quality RCTs with herbal formulae containing were identified. Results from meta-analysis indicated that alone or formulae containing in addition to conventional treatments could benefit people with type 2 DM in lowering blood glucose, blood lipids and reducing insulin resistance. Moreover, adverse events were significantly lower in the C
