Study findings can provide insight into deformation characteristics of new materials and how to mitigate thermal distortions.The aim of the study was to characterize antioxidant and textural property differences of edible films prepared with the addition of lapacho extract (LE). The experimentally produced edible films also contained different carrageenans (ι- and κ-carrageenan). The κ- and ι-carrageenan, glycerol and the different addition of LE (5%, 10%, 20%) were used as ingredients for forming films. The pH and viscosity were measured for film forming solutions (before drying). The following analyses were performed on films the total polyphenol content (TPC), Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) and 2-Diphenyl-1-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). Optical parameters were analyzed by the determination of UV-Vis spectra. The structure of films was characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The gained results indicated that the use of different gelling agents (ι- and κ-carrageenan) resulted in statistically significant (p less then 0.05) differences in textural properties (strength and breaking strain) of produced edible films. The highest antioxidant properties and TPC had a κ film with 20% LE (DPPH 87.63 ± 0.03%; TPC 233.75 ± 0.104 mg gallic acid/g). According to these results, it can be concluded that edible films with the highest concentrations of added lapacho extract can serve as a good source of antioxidant compounds. Certainly, these properties can be usefully incorporated into the wrapped food commodity.This study aimed to evaluate the effects of the use of chickpea meal in substitution of soybean meal on plasma metabolites, reproductive response, milk yield and composition and milk coagulation traits of primiparous buffaloes in early lactation. Eighteen primiparous buffaloes were blocked by age, body weight and days in milk and equally allotted to two experimental groups from 10 to 100 days of lactation. The experimental diets consisted of the same forage integrated with two different isonitrogenous and isoenergetic concentrates containing either 210 g/kg of soybean meal or 371 g/kg chickpea. Primaquine The use of chickpea meal had no negative effects on dry matter intake (p = 0.69), body condition score (p = 0.33) and milk yield (p = 0.15). Neither milk composition nor blood metabolites were influenced by dietary treatments (p > 0.05), but an increment of urea concentrations in milk (p 0.05) of the dietary treatment was highlighted on milk coagulation traits as well as buffalo reproductive responses. We concluded that soybean meal can be replaced by chickpea meal in the diet for primiparous dairy buffaloes in the early lactation period without impairing their productive and reproductive performance.Osteoporosis (OP) is a multifactorial disease influenced by genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors. One of the main causes of the bone homeostasis alteration is inflammation resulting in excessive bone resorption. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), have a crucial role in regulating many important biological processes in bone, including inflammation. We designed our study to identify lncRNAs misregulated in osteoblast primary cultures derived from OP patients (n = 4), and controls (CTRs, n = 4) with the aim of predicting possible RNA and/or protein targets implicated in this multifactorial disease. We focused on 84 lncRNAs regulating the expression of pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory genes and miRNAs. In silico analysis was utilized to predict the interaction of lncRNAs with miRNAs, mRNAs, and proteins targets. Six lncRNAs were significantly down-regulated in OP patients compared to controls CEP83-AS1, RP11-84C13.1, CTC-487M23.5, GAS5, NCBP2-AS2, and SDCBP2-AS1.
