The right way to install a wooden fence post is the key to a sturdy fence. First, mark out the positions for your fence posts and dig holes one-third of the post’s length into the ground. Put some gravel in the bottom of the holes to improve drainage and minimize chances of decay of the wood. Place your wooden fence post in the middle of the hole and ensure it is vertical using a spirit level. The next step is pouring concrete into the hole surrounding the post. Let the concrete set before backfilling the rest of the hole with soil.
