The rye cover-cropped plots had lower soil nitrate and higher soil carbon. When limiting nitrate and excess carbon were provided in lab assays, the proportion of N2O resulting from denitrification decreased. These results suggest that the discrepancy between the observed decrease in field N2O emissions and the increase in denitrification potential may be due to the difference in available nutrients between the field and laboratory measurements. Overall, these results suggest the importance of late-winter peaks in N2O emissions and the potential of rye cover cropping to reduce N2O emissions from agricultural fields. This study examined the long-run and short-run heterogeneous links among urban concentration, non-renewable energy use intensity, economic development, and environmental emissions index across the regional development levels of 31 Chinese provinces. By employing the augmented mean group method and Dumitrescu-Hurlin causality, the following results are drawn Firstly, a bidirectional positive linkage was existent between the economic development and urban concentration in both the long-run and short-run across regional development levels. Secondly, a unidirectional positive linkage emerged from non-renewable energy use intensity to environmental emissions index, with the most influential effect in EER China (highest development level). Thirdly, bidirectional mixed linkages prevailed between economic development and non-renewable energy use intensity. Economic development mitigated the non-renewable energy use intensity (inverted U-shaped curve) in the national data set and EER China (highest development level);ects in the long-run surpassed those in the short-run for all development levels. With the implementation of new domestic garbage classification policy in China, attention is growing to improve the treatment efficiency of municipal 'wet' waste. Combing with the new regulation, the synergistic strategy and the microbial ecology of the anaerobic co-digestion (AcoD) of cooked food waste (CFW), uncooked food waste (UCFW) and rice straw (RS) were analyzed in current study. Results showed that the maximum cumulative methane yield (CMY) and synergic index were obtained when CFW and UCFW were mixed at the ratio of 11 (based on volatile solid content). The highest CMY 452.94 ± 0.99 mL/g-VS was obtained when the ratio of CFW, UCFW and RS was 0.810.090.10, which was 16.29%, 36.20% and 121.84% higher than their mono-digestion, respectively. RGDyK inhibitor The AcoD promoted the methane potential by prolonging the release time of organic matter and slowing down the hydrolysis rate. Furthermore, the AcoD increased the species diversification and relative abundance of fermentation bacteria in digesters, and Methanosaeta predominated the methanogen communities. This study demonstrated a clean and sustainable AcoD strategy for safe disposal of urban food waste and revealed the variation of microbial community, which can provide a base for efficient bioenergy recovery from urban domestic garbage.Syringic acid is a methoxyphenol model compound derived from biomass burning, and its photooxidation processes have important effects on atmospheric chemistry. However, its aqueous-phase photochemistry remains unclear. In this study, we systematically report the photooxidation of syringic acid induced by OH radicals in the aqueous phase. Employing the relative rate technique, the bimolecular rate constant for syringic acid reaction with OH radicals was acquired to be (1.1 ± 0.3) × 1010 M-1 s-1. Notably, colored products were formed as the reaction progressed. Furthermore, the UV-vis and fluorescence spectra confirmed the formation of light-absorbing organic species, and the results agreed well with previous results on atmospheric and natural humic-like substances (HULIS). The photooxidation products were detected by high performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (HPLC/MS), and a possible reaction mechanism was proposed. The aq
