The most consistent change in protein expression was the elevation of GRP78/BiP at the mRNA and protein levels in all resistant variants of L1210 cells. In conclusion, the mechanisms of resistance to these stressors have certain common features, but there are also specific differences.A simple and fast high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprint method combining reference standard extract for the identification of bilberry extract was developed and validated. Six batches of bilberry extract collected from different manufactures were used to establish the HPLC fingerprint. Other berry extracts-such as blueberry extracts, mulberry extracts, cranberry extracts, and black rice extracts-were also analyzed for their HPLC chromatograms. The fingerprints of five batches of bilberry extract showed high similarities, while one batch was distinguished from others. Additionally, the content of anthocyanin Cyanidin-3-O-glucoside (Cy-3-glc) in each berry extract was analyzed and compared. The results indicate that this HPLC fingerprint method, combining reference standard extracts, could be used for the authentication and quality control of bilberry extracts. Background Anorexia nervosa (AN) among the general population is a rare but often fatal illness. Objective To summarize the incidence of AN using a systematic review and meta-analysis. Methods Four online databases (PubMed, Scopus, WoS and Embase) were consulted. The review was conducted according to with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines and was limited to women. The methodological quality of the studies was assessed by the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS). Results A total of 31 articles were included in the study. The incidence rate of AN ranged from 0.5 to 318.0 cases per 100,000 women-years. The incidence in studies based on outpatient healthcare services (OHS) was higher than those based on hospital admissions (HA) (8.8 95% CI 7.83-9.80 vs. 5.0 95% CI 4.87-5.05). In young women, the incidence in OHS was higher than HA (63.7, 95% CI 61.21-66.12 vs. 8.1 95% CI 7.60-8.53). The linear trend in the incidence of AN was increasing in all ages of women and young women, both in studies with hospital admission records, and in those based on outpatient healthcare services. Conclusion The incidence of AN depends on the methodology, the type of population and the diagnostic criteria used.Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and the associated functional disorders are a major epidemiological problem that compromises the quality of life (QoL). The aim of this study was to assess the impact of lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) related to POP and vaginal native tissue repair (VNTR) on QoL. Two hundred patients with symptomatic POP were stratified into four groups according to the dominant storage phase function disorders Urgency; stress urinary incontinence (SUI); mixed urinary incontinence (MUI), and without clinically significant symptoms from lower urinary tract (LUT). They underwent VNTR from January 2018 to February 2019. After 12 months, the QoL was assessed by the Prolapse Quality of Life (P-QoL) and visual analogue scale (VAS) questionnaires. The data were analyzed with Statistica package version 12.0 (StatSoft, Krakow, Poland), using the Kalmogorow-Smirnoff, Shapiro-Wilk W and the one-way analysis of variance with post hoc Tukey tests. The results of P-QoL showed significant improvement (p less then 0.05) in all the study groups in most domains assessed before surgery and 12 months after surgery. Significant improvements in all the symptoms assessed by the VAS scale results were found in groups Urgency and MUI. The LUTS questionnaire revealed significant improvement in all voiding and post voiding symptoms in these groups. VNTR effectively eliminated LUTS and significantly improved the patients' QoL associated with POP.This study aims to develop a prototype of an autonomous robotic device to assist the locomotion of the elderly in u
