001, both). After 1 year of treatment, BMD loss in the lumbar spine was significantly greater in the C → T and G + T groups than in the T group; this tendency was maintained for 5 years of treatment (all p less then 0.005). CONCLUSION Premenopausal women who received adjuvant treatment which induced menopause showed significant bone loss which lasted for 5 years. Although no significant difference was observed between the O and T groups, tamoxifen treatment during chemotherapy or GnRH agonist treatment might prevent bone loss.PURPOSE BRCA1/2 mutations represent a high risk of breast cancer and are related to early-onset breast cancer. However, few studies have reported the relationship between BRCA1/2 mutations and their clinical characteristics in early-onset breast cancers. This study is the first article that characterizes the risk factor profiles in Chinese patients selected by the age of onset (≤ 40 years old). We found some differences in the prevalence of germline BRCA1/2 mutations between Asian and Western countries. METHODS A total of 1371 consecutive unselected Chinese early-onset breast cancer patients were enrolled from the Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, China, and screened for germline BRCA1/2 mutations. Full-exome sequencing in next-generation sequencing technology was performed in all patients to examine BRCA1/2 mutations. RESULTS In our study, 25 (1.8%) and 61 (4.4%) patients were identified with BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations, respectively, among the unselected early-onset breast cancer patients. BRCA1 mutations were associated with pregnancies (p = 0.026), and BRCA1 carriers had a higher likelihood of being HR positive (p less then 0.001), HER2 negative (p less then 0.001), or high grade (p = 0.002) than noncarriers. Among BRCA2 mutations, the age of onset was younger in carriers than in noncarriers (p = 0.017), and BRCA2 carriers were more likely to have lymph node metastasis (p = 0.004). HR-positive or HER2-negative patients were likely to be positive for BRCA2 mutations (p less then 0.001). Overall, 14 BRCA1 mutations and 8 BRCA2 mutations were first reported in our study CONCLUSION This study provided some information about the spectrum of BRCA1/2 mutations and characterized the risk factors for early-onset breast cancer in China. The present study aimed to clarify the psychological status of 766 former residents of Tomioka Town, Fukushima Prefecture, and their intent to return (ITR) 8 years after the disaster at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant. We investigated their ITR home and their perception of the risk of health effects from radiation exposure. We also evaluated rates of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using a PTSD checklist (PCL-S) and of psychological stress using the patient health questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9). Among the residents, 102 (13%) had returned home (group 1), 214 (28%) were unsure about returning (group 2), and 450 (59%) had decided not to return (group 3). Concern about exposing the next generation to radiation was significantly more prevalent in groups 2 and 3 than in group 1. The frequency of positive PCL-S and PHQ-9 responses was higher in group 2 than in groups 1 and 3. Factors that were independently associated with returning to Tomioka were positive PCL-S (OR, 4.3) and PHQ-9 (OR, 2.2) scores, concerns about consuming locally sourced food, and living with children, and were more prevalent in group 2 than group 1 (reference). Group 2 was more anxious about radiation exposure and health effects, and had higher rates of psychological stress and PTSD. Providing support to such residents through careful risk communication will be required to recover this community after the nuclear disaster.Activity-dependent neuroprotective protein (ADNP) and its protein snippet NAP (drug candidate CP201) regulate synapse formation and cognitive as well as behavioral functions, in part, through microtubule interaction.
