Elliott Allan Hilsinger (elliottallanhilsinger)
Elliott Allan Hilsinger’s professional path has been shaped by entrepreneurship, service, and a steady dedication to helping others protect what matters most. At 49, he continues to balance his business responsibilities with community involvement and personal interests. He has long enjoyed swimming, water activities, and coaching youth sports, all of which allow him to stay connected to his community in meaningful ways.
Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Hilsinger graduated from high school in 1990 and began attending the University of Cincinnati the following year. His academic journey lasted five years, during which he studied at the Carl H. Lindner College of Business. In 1995, he earned his Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Marketing. While at UC, he joined Sigma Chi, following in his father's footsteps. The fraternity remained important to him beyond college, and he and his family have consistently supported Sigma Chi through ongoing contributions and involvement.
Not long after completing his degree, Hilsinger chose to pursue entrepreneurship. He created and grew several small businesses in the years following his graduation, dedicating significant time to understanding markets, refining strategies, and improving operations. By applying what he learned through formal education and hands-on experience, he strengthened each venture before eventually selling it. This decade-long period helped define his approach to building and managing businesses.
A significant shift occurred in 2009 when Hilsinger became a victim of identity theft. The experience had a substantial impact on him and revealed how vulnerable personal information could be without proper protection. Wanting to prevent others from facing the same challenges, he began researching the identity protection industry to understand where improvements were needed. After completing extensive market research and developing a clear business plan, he assembled a team of professionals who shared his vision. This work ultimately led to the founding of Guard Well Identity Theft Solutions in 2011.
Hilsinger has remained deeply involved with Guard Well since its launch and became CEO in June 2012. Under his leadership, the company has grown into a nationwide provider of identity protection and management services, working primarily through employee benefit programs. Guard Well has earned various awards, and he is often cited as a knowledgeable voice on the importance of protecting employees and organizations from identity theft.
His commitment to service extends into philanthropy as well. He created the “Guard Well Gives Back” program to help nonprofits reach their fundraising goals. He also launched the COPS Program—Covering Officers’ Personal Security—which provides discounted memberships to law enforcement officers, with a portion of the proceeds donated to charities that support the law enforcement community. Additionally, he developed the VETS Program, offering discounted memberships to active-duty and retired military personnel, and contributed to veteran- and military-focused organizations.
Through his work in business, philanthropy, and community engagement, Elliott Allan Hilsinger continues to shape a career grounded in purpose, resilience, and a consistent effort to make a positive difference.
