K Marie Smith (divadollmag)
K Marie has written poetry and short stories all of her life. During her early years, while attending Detroit's Henry Ford High School, K Marie wrote for the school news paper as a sports correspondent. She won several awards for interviews and articles written on various popular University of Michigan sports figures of the 1980's, such as Anthony Carter and Glenn Rice to name a few. Once she was diagnosed with dyslexia at age eighteen, she had all but given up on her dreams of becoming a published bestselling author. As a result, K Marie decided to work in the health care and human services field for several years, but her passion for writing remained. Once provided with the proper tools, K Marie was able to overcome her so called disability and in 2008, she penned her first self published book entitled, "Trying Not to Remember". K Marie’s deep desire to write didn’t end there. Her second book, “The Beauty of Grace” will be considered her first full featured fiction novel. She is presently working on her third title, “Deadly Secrets”. Be on the lookout for its release in late 2010. K Marie resides in Detroit, Michigan with her husband and their teenage daughter, where she is currently working on a degree in Education.
