Tim Greyhavens (axis777)
Tim Greyhavens is a Seattle-based photographer who is inspired by his fascination with understanding how we accumulate cognitive and visual knowledge. He believes an instant in photography is not always well-delineated. Certain images do not correspond point by point to the original subject or the original moment, especially when time and its passage is a factor in the perception of the image. Sometimes the uniqueness of an image comes from its symbolic and solitary expression, captured in a likeness that is both specific and equivocal.
Greyhavens was influenced in his photography by Minor White, who taught him that looking is not the same as seeing and that photographing something is not the same as recording a reality. In his work he strives to make the viewer question what is seen, no matter how it is presented.
