Chains

In this mortal probation none are exempt from the consequences of choice or from the choices of others which, at times, are inflicted upon us. We all feel ourselves bound by the chains of these choices, and in our sorrow we feel stripped and naked, hopeless, afraid, and alone. We feel trapped, haunted by our past, bound to a destiny forged in our affliction.

Sometimes, when the hour is darkest, looking back is the only way we can see how far we have come and how much we have learned. We may even find a sort of beauty in the refiner’s fire and know that through the crucible of our struggles we have become greater than we could have imagined.

It is my hope that as you flip through this collection of images you will contemplate the various stages of the human condition and reflect on your own past. More importantly I hope you contemplate your own future and know that in the end each of us individually has the power to overcome any adversity and become stronger as your character is refined.
