In November 2012, SmithBucklin moved to 330 North Wabash Avenue, occupying offices on three and a half floors of a building designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Our company decided to name each of its nine conference rooms for a Chicago neighborhood and I was given the honor of making photographs for the Bridgeport, Bucktown, Chinatown, Lincoln Park, Loop, Pilsen, Steeterville, Wicker Park and Wrigleyville conference rooms. The project story describes my inspiration from the advancements in architecture and visual literacy by Mies van der Rohe, László Moholy-Nagy and Harry Callahan. The softcover book includes reproductions of all the photographs in the conference rooms, plus a few extra that didn't make the final edit.
